Disposable Camera

Following on from the previous experiment, I took Tianna who is 6 and Cara who is 17 to their favourite place, and gave them both a disposable camera, this is to help show the different perceptions they have of their favourite place they were in and to let them to photograph anything that took their fancy.

This will show the difference between Tianna's and Cara's way of seeing things, with Tianna being a lot younger she has a more child like mind which can focus on having an adventure compared to Cara who is more matured and can link things such as memories together. With the age difference Cara is older enough to be able to link images and memories together whereas because Tianna is a lot younger she is less likely to have depth in her images that she would take.


This could also show the idea of different lives and stages of memories that are made and remembered, for Cara because she is older, she is at the stage in her life where she can now build more memories and still remember old ones.

There are different ideas looming with what I will decide to do after the images have been developed. With showing them the images they took and asking them to firstly pick their favourites and explain why could then be videoed and a selection of videos could be put together. This could show their ideas and thoughts when looking and linking their own photos.

I gave them a disposable camera, as I wanted to create something raw to experiment with, knowing myself and what I commonly would photograph when linking to this reoccurring theme, I thought it would be more exciting to see how both characters would react to the task and to see what outcome would be produced. Obviously with them both being completely different ages it was interesting to wait and find out what they took images of, and with using disposable camera specifically, it was unknown until the very end of the process what they actually photographed.
